  1. Capri is a beautiful place. If you're lucky enough to be there for their saint day, there's an interesting procession and fireworks. The Munthe Villa in Anacapri is a good place to watch the boats and the fireworks in the evening.

The Garden of Augustus is one of my favorite spots on the islands. It overlooks Marina Piccola and the Faraglione rocks. The perfume factory is interesting too.

For restaurants, I like La Pergola and La Savardina. For pizza try Da Gemma. There are lots of other good restaurants to choose from too.

The blue grotto is worth a stop as is the perfume factory. Villa Jovis is the ruins of one of Emperor Tiberius' homes. Walk to the Gardens of Augustus for the views. There's also shopping.

Munthe's house in Anacapri is definitely worth a visit: Villa San Michele. The bus ride up to Anacapri can be a thrill in itself. While you're in Anacapri see the mosaics in San Michele Arcangelo church. Take the chairlift to the top of the mountain for the spectacular views. There's also a really good restaurant near Anacapri - Gelsomina.

Is there something specific you need to know?

  2. Have visited numerous times.  Anacapri, the upper part of the city, is charming and quaint with wonderful shops and excellent restaurants.  The best hotels are there as well.  Be prepared -- Capri is very expensive as everything (even drinking water) is imported from mainland Italy.
