What were the results good or bad? I am interested in buying one on their buy now pay later plan but don't know much about this company.I need an easy to use serger but one that is a good brand and will last a long time.

My old serger's motor froze up on me.I noticed some of them on Overstock are really good brands and really cheap.I am leary of something too cheap so what do you think I should do?

  1. I went over and look at the sergers on Overstock. There were only two and I have never heard of either brand. I have been sewing for over 30 years.

Personally I wouldn't buy a sewing machine or serger from anywhere but a sewing machine store, where I would get free lessons on the machine and help in the future if I would ever need it. Check out used sergers at a sewing machine store.

I am leery of the brands of the sergers. I would look into those companies and see how good their machines are.

  2. Hemline is not a brand I've ever heard of.  Folks I've heard of who bought Yamata coverstitchers were uniformly disappointed and frustrated.

When my first serger died last year, I was all set to buy a particular model of Juki... I'd located a dealer not too far away, had researched my options, and had sewn on several models of Juki and was quite happy with the one I wanted.  Only problem was the dealer didn't carry that model. :-(

So I bought online from a source with a pretty good reputation as a sewing machine/serger dealer (allbrands) and have been very pleased with the machine.  But I had done my homework quite thoroughly, and I'm not sure you have yet.

At the very least, make sure your usual repair shop is willing to fix the machine you intend to buy.

I have purchased other things from Overstock with no problems, but I doubt very much I'd touch either serger listed right now.
