  1. They have excellent prices on the ship (Duty free) but you will find even better prices for quality alcohol on sure. For example in Jamaica you can purchase Appleton Estate rum (It manufactured in Jamaica) for about half the cost of in the US. The ships generally require that you check the liquor with them until you disembark, but I took mine back to my room and no one said anything. I really had no intention of drinking it on board anyway so I would not have had a problem with them holding it. So I guess it depends on the situation. Also remember there is only so much you can bring back into the country duty free (This amount varies depending upon the ports so inquire), but that amount is for each person in your party over 21.

  2. Yes they are wicked cheap.  The only thing is when you buy it in the store on the ship they keep it for you until the last night of the cruise.

You can't bring it back to the room.

  3. Yes, you don't pay taxes, and they are much cheaper, but you can't drink it on the ship--they keep it for you until the end of your cruise.

I have bought liquor before and it was not problem.

  4. The prices on a cruise ship (sailing in international waters) will be roughly the same as you would see at a Duty-Free shop in an airport.

  5. I have bought them onboard, but you can usually get a BETTER deal in port.
