  1. Probably, but they didn't need to.

There is a wealth of information about hypnosis that is available for free or little money.

If you want to be a hypnotist, get books about it first. Your local library should be very helpful.  There are hundreds of books on the subject. Books to look for: The Encyclopedia of Stage Hypnotism by Ormand McGill, Hypnotherapy by Dave Elman, Inside Secrets of Stage Hypnotism by Jerry Valley, Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy by Calvin Banyan & Gerald Kein, and any other book that catches your eye.

Learn everything you can get access to. If you aren't comfortable and confident in your abilities after reading about it, then go to a hypnosis school. I recommend Omni Hypnosis Training Center of Deland, Florida, USA.

Or find a local hypnotist who is willing to mentor you. There is nothing like hands-on experience!

If you want to change something about yourself with hypnosis, such as becoming a non-smoker, or improving your golf game, I strongly suggest that you see a local hypnotist for one or two sessions. It works like a charm!

The National Guild of Hypnotists website can also be helpful. http://ngh.net  The NGH holds an annual convention in August of each year in Massachusettes, USA. They have a huge variety of workshops where you can learn any aspect of hypnosis that strikes your fancy.
