  1. Take him to a vet or aviary right away.   I hand feed my baby birds now, so when someone gave me a wild baby I took care of it with alot of love and luck, it flew out of my back door after caring for it for a few weeks.

  2. i have. we went on a walk once and when we came back, we found a baby bird, very young with no feathers, so we took it in. we got a little plastic box bottom ans put some tissues in it. to feed we got tweezers and worms and tried to feed it worms the way a mother bird would. unfortunately, he wasn't very healthy to begin with and we only had him for a couple of days. we called him joey.

  3. I've cared for a baby Black Phoebe before, I feed him mealworms and some hard boiled eggs. For the bird you found, you should turn him in to a wildlife center and they may know what to feed him...do you think you can send me a picture of him? I'll tell you what I know about the bird

  4. I had a similar situation but my parents convinced me to take it to a vet because they can care for it much better there than you could ever care for it. Though they do seem helpless, they can carry many dangerious diseases that could make you or your family seriously ill. I would suggest putting the bird back outside to fend for itself (what it would have to do if you hadn't found it) or bring it to the vet where they can better evaluate the situation.

  5. I have had a found bird.feed it sunflower seeds. If it pecks at the window it is ready to continue it's journey through life. And don't worry if it flies away.

  6. If the bird is fully feathered, it is most likely a fledgling and has left the nest on it's own and it's parents are caring for it. It is normal for birds to leave the nest before they can fly. You need to replace it where you found it..preferably in a scrub or tree so it is relatively safe from predators, and the parents should come back to feed it. If it is unfeathered...then look for a nest and if you can find it...replace it into the nest. Do not worry about your scent being on the chick..birds have a very poorly developed sense of smell and will NOT reject a baby that has been touched. If you cannot find a nest, get the bird to a local wildlife rehab for it's best chance of survival. Also, keep in mind, it is illegal for you to try and raise this bird on your own. Look for a rehab here:
