  1. I twould not surprise me if it happened a bit a thte earlier olympics

  2. I'm certain they are "allowed", but it's rare to see them compete in two completely different sports.  It's common track however.

  3. nah not possible as most of the sports run at the same time.

  4. It's allowed, but it happened in the past more often than it does today. In particular I expect most countries discourage their athletes from trying to make the team in 2 different sports if there's a risk of a sheduling conflict

If I remember right, Jim Thorpe competed in both athletics and modern pentathlon.

And there are athletes in many sports who, if they just miss the olympic team in their sport, go to try out for the bobsled team in the winter games 2 years later. I expect there are at least a few bobsled 4ths who have made the olympics in their main sport a few times. But that's 2 different sports in 2 different olympics. For it to happen in the same olympics is very rare. Again I know it's been done in the past, but nowadays it's nearly impossible to be that good in more than one sport.

  5. One of the British women cyclists -Rebecca Romero who won a gold- won a silver medal at the Athens Olympics in rowing, but it would be impossible to compete in two disciplines at the same Olympics.

  6. like 2 totally different sports? idk but guo jingjing competes in synchro diving and induividual if that helps but that's a good question
