Has anyone ever considered, the idea that magnetism and s*x could somehow be linked?

I know its certainly off the wall, but something in me, feels that there a connection between the laws of attraction, and magnetic attraction.

At a high level, I think that you are indeed correct.

However, to me, the physical forces which provide the mechanism for attraction between objects is usually manifested by proximity, rather than abstract selectivity.  Objects just occupy a space and time which allows the attraction to take place.  And, it will happen if the environmental conditions are right.

Sexual attraction has more abstract and selective aspects which determine if the interaction occurs.

Your question is not off the wall but logical. But in magnetism the attraction between north and south poles cannot be compared to the attraction between the opposite s*x. The body chemistry goes deeper and is not confined to act of s*x alone. You would have noticed, that even when it comes to a simple thing as giving a helping hand with work, woman would not hesitate to help a man, and vice versa. Relationship between Man to Man, or Woman to Woman, is always on the brink of breaking up. No attraction. Fathers support daughters and Moms always treat sons fondly. Why it is not the other way around. Here it is not the s*x aspect, but the fact is that opposite s*x is always interesting. You tend to turn a blind eye to their mistakes.

But how do you explain, Lesbos and g*y men. Here your magnetism concept would not hold water. A Magnet, would never turn the tables and attract the same pole. Humans will.

Further is a man north or south and what rationale would you apply if you classify him as N and Women as S.

The link you are talking about is very feeble. I do hope I have cleared your doubts on polar attraction.

The law that opposites attract is easy enough to apply here. The north pole of one magnet attracts to the south of another.
