  1. The number of deaths is very minimal.  They're generally due to an unknown health condition or potentially heat stroke, which can be avoided by drinking water.  There's no reason to be scared.  If you simply follow directions, you'll have no problems at all.  Everyone's nervous before they join, it's natural.

  2. Yes.

Idiots that didn't follow instructions to the letter mostly.....

Follow instructions.  If it is not clear ask a question, or for a demo.  Don't be a smart ***, and don't pretend you know everything.

Drills are there to teach you how to survive combat, and to get you in mental and physical shape to meet the requirements.

  3. It is very rare and normally the result of undiscovered medical conditions.

Death from heatrelated injuries has happened but they are rare. Weather conditions are closely monitored and the proper amount of hydration is enforced.

The training itself is not responsible for any of the deaths. When you go through simply follow directions and you will be fine. If you are training in hot weather remember to drink the right amount of water to stay hydrated but do not over do it - too much water can be every bit as fatal as too little.

  4. Yes unfortutely people have died in BCT. Either from heat stroke or physical disorders. But not many at all to be honest. Why do you ask?

  5. Sometimes they do - we had one recruit in my basic training that died of an aneurysm. I have heard of recruits committing suicide while in BCT.
