Has anyone ever driven from Texas to Puerto Vallarta? How long does it take from say the TX border to there?

  2. Say from El Paso (Ciudad Juarez on the mexican side) you drive to Durango via Chihuahua, thats 1,040 kilometers, 645 miles.

    From Durango you can drive to the coast, visit Mazatlan (nice beach, great seafood), which is another 325 kilometers, 200 miles, and drive down the coast to Tepic (300 kilometers, 190 miles) then Tepic to Vallarta, 164 kilometers, 100 miles.

    You do cross the Sierra Madre Occidental, so be careful, dont drive by night, drink the beer when you get to your destination.
