  1. Thats why the Airplane was developed, but if you wanna ruff it out I wish you the best of luck and you better be packing I do mean packing!

  2. no... and i DEFF would not ..    its dangerous.. and u'd have to do research on all the countries you would have to go through just to get there .. and the road conditions..  alot of work and not worth it in my opinion.

    just fly

  3. I haven't, but some years ago I met an American diplomat who'd driven from Washington to Brasilia along the Inter-American Highway.

That was then, this is now. You might look for some recent blogging on the subject.

  4. I have met people who have done it, with cars and motorbikes, but the one catch is the Darien Gap, there is no relations between Colombia and Panama.  Therefore you have to put your car on a boat.

The Pan-American Highway is a system of roads measuring about 26,000 km (16,000 miles) long that crosses through the entirety of North, Central, and South America, with the sole exception of the Darién Gap. Thus, the Darién Gap has historically been a sore spot for businesses looking to expand their markets. On the Colombian side, the highway terminates at about 27 km (17 miles) west of Barranquillita, at Lomas Aisiadas (Casa 40) located at 7°38′N 76°57′W. On the Panamanian side, the road terminus is the town of Yaviza at 8°9′N 77°41′W. This marks a straight-line separation of about 100 km (62 statute miles). In between is marshland and forest.

  5. I have met people who did it on there motor bikes and I seem to remember meeting a few missionaries who did it to get their car and stuff down to South America.  I have heard that it can be a bit dangerous with all the bandits and such.

  6. Unfortunately, not me. Good question there. Now, I wonder the same thing.
