  1. A guy I know played in the Main Event this year. He cashed out around $33,000. Pretty good for his first try!

  2. I've played in the circuit event, in Atlantic City.

You have to understand the WSOP is a series of poker competitions with buy-ins as low as $1,500.  They also have satellites with much lower buy-ins.

There are also circuit events held at casinos all around the country with buy-ins as low as $300, right up to $10,000.

I think you are probably referring to the main event of the WSOP held in Vegas each year.  The buy in for this is still $10,000.

You can watch televised portions of the various WSOP events on ESPN Tuesday night.

  3. I played in the Ladies event at the WSOP and in their circuit events.  The buy ins for those events wwere lower than 10K.  The main event is sitll 10K.

  4. There are actually 55 separate tournaments at the WSOP. They range in buyin from $1500 - $50,000 (H.O.R.S.E.).  But yes, the main event is still 10k

  5. No I didn't participate, but for WSOP 2008, it was still 10k buy-in.
