their dress?

I haven't yet, but am really worried I will. Everytime I look in a bridal magazine or a bridal web-site to get ideas for my wedding, I always am like "wow, that dress is beautiful!" So far, I haven't seen any others that are just what I want in my price range, like the one I bought is (the main thing I wanted was a detachable train). But, I'm so worried I may some day open up the magazine or web-site & see one! I totally love my dress, but, can't help but look at others.

Has anyone had this happen to them?

  1. Don't look at any other dresses.  Also remember, there are thousands of amazing dresses out there; but, are they going to be amazing on you.   Wedding dresses are difficult to pick out.  Not every style looks amazing on you.  So, the dress might be wonderful in pictures, but horrible on you.  The dress you have now is something you picked because it's flattered you.  Who says those other dress would do the same?

Remember you feel in love with the dress you have now because of the way it makes you look and feel fabulous.

  2. Wear blinkers and don't look at any more. I'd been planning my wedding for 2 years by the time we got married and found that 3 months before i wanted a different colour for the bridesmaids. Didn't change it, it's just too expensive to buy everything more than once.

  3. You're worrying about the wrong things!  Concentrate on all the other things that have to be done for your wedding!

Make up your mind that you will wear the dress you have, because you absolutely loved it when you bought it.  If you see one you like better (you shouldn't be looking...you're busy doing other things), then Oh, well.  Acknowledge that it's pretty, but that you already have yours.

Have a happy day looking radiant in the dress you've already picked!

  4. I wouldn't say I ever fall out of love with my dress, but I have to admit I've been sort of cheating on it lately by looking at other ones.  Not that I'm actually going to buy one and not wear my original dress, but every once in a while I'll see one and go, "Oh, that would be the perfect dress to get married in!" forgetting for a second that I already have a dress that I think would be perfect to get married in.  I think it's just human nature, to consider the possibilities with something else after already committing to something.  Like, haven't you ever bought a new car, and then just a week after you buy it, you see a new model and go, "Oops, maybe I should have bought that kind instead."  I think that's just how we tend to deal with major purchases, and a wedding gown is certainly major, at least emotionally speaking.

  5. There's not only one dress out there that could be THE dress. I worry about that a little, but really, I know I love my dress to death, and it really was exactly what I was looking for and I wouldn't change a thing on it.

It sounds like you like your dress, but you don't love it, because you want to change things. Can you take it to a seamstress to have things altered or added? If not, i would just accept that this is the one and be done with it, unless you're starting to get really unhappy with it.

But I'm not getting married for another year, and I know I'll love my dress:)

  6. I'm less than one month away from my wedding and I did worry about having buyer's remorse, but honestly as the date has gotten closer, I've thought less and less about the dress.  All of the other details are far more important at this point and I still love the dress that I purchased.  In fact, I tried it on a few days ago and immediately thought "I love this gown!"

    Best wishes!!!!
