I am stuck at a dead end job in a field that I dont even like.I am currently a receptionist. I have been trying to find another office job in a different environment but have had no suck luck.I am actually a day care teacher but the pay isnt enough for me to support myself. I am not the type of person who can sit all day and im very unhappy. My dream is to open up my own

daycare in my house. I took some classes given by the state and was ready to go but life got in the way and I kind of just forgot about it.I am now thinking of that dream again.I do have a spare room in my apt that I can easily turn into a day care room ( i would only care for 2-3 children). Should I take the risk

and buy what i need for the day care and start trying to get clients or should I put my dream on hold till I get a house? My dad ownes the property I live at so there wont be any issues with that. I also have access to the back yard and live in walking distance to a playground.

  1. 2 or three children aren't going to pay the bills, and I don't know how comfortable parents are going to be taking there babies to a apartment complex.

Why don't you bust your butt saving money for this, take out a business loan, buy a house,or a space in a building some where.Get the place ready, and start advertising.I think this is the best way to go.

Don't forget to open up business accounts, with Costco, etc.

Pick a age group as well,or do em all

  2. Well it sounds like you have a good start on the whole plan.  My advice is to start finding friends with kids or who know people who have kids.  Take some refresher courses and make sure you do it all by the states codes. Just decide what age group you want to go for, and do it I say!

  3. Why dont you become a therapeutic foster parent..Its a 24/7 job but very rewarding. There are a lot of kids that need loving homes. I hope you find what you are looking for. Dont give up on your dream!!

  4. You'll need to take a CPR class. Sounds like a good plan but you need to think about the pay. Its not that much a month for 2-3 kids and thats IF the parents pay and their checks dont bounce. My daycare lady is always stressed out trying to make ends meet and dealing with parents who wont pay. She's had to turn away kids because their moms didnt pay which left her in a bind trying to fill that childs spot. All this stress added onto screaming kids. Doesnt sound like much fun.
