I just gave my cat his first dose of this medicine, he's been sneezing like crazy due to allergies. Has anyone had to give their cat this medicine before? Did it work for them, when did their allergies clear up?

  1. Our cat has to have this steroid, usually by way of injection that lasts 4 - 6 weeks, in late february, early March each year. He suffers allergies and asthma, made worse at this time of year by tree pollen. He sneezes, has eye discharge and has asthma attacks, which can easily be mistaken for him trying to bring up a hairball. He's an indoor car (he has no desire to go outside) so we try to control his allergies by way of keeping our home dust free, using filtrete air purifiers (better than hepa) and by keeping a close eye on him. The downside of the steroid, even in the short term, are the effect it has on his appetite. He's on a diet as it is, the injection makes him obsessed with food. We've just purchased an Aerokat and hope that will avoid further injections.
