I'm 39 weeks 4 days. I'm wondering if any of you have ever gone into labor without having any signs/symptoms or pre-labor contractions. Did the real labor contractions just hit you? I'm 3 cm. and 90% and my pre labor contractions seem to have just completely disappeared. Share your experiences please! I'm feeling like this child is just WAY too comfortable to leave!

  1. I did, but i was 32 weeks pregnant when it happened. I woke up one more, uncomfortable then within minutes I had my show and had full-on hard labor contractions. I had my baby 3 hours later.

You're almost there, it could be any day now!! Congratulations & I wish you a healthy delivery & baby!!

  2. I did but i have an incompetent cervix, and you are already full term so... I would say that it's just gonna hit you all at once, lol. So, watch out.

  3. Yes I did.  I was scheduled to have a c-section with my second child.  The surgery was set for monday and I had to pick up my surgery orders on friday.  Friday I woke up feeling horrible!  I just felt like I had the flu no pain or anything.  I went to the dr. to get the orders and asked if he would check and see if anything was going on down there.  My husband was going to be out of town for the weekend and if I had dilated anymore I could ask him to stay home just in case.  I had been dilated to 2 for like 3 weeks.  The doctor checked and I was 8/9 cm.  I think we both nearly had a heart attack!  I had never felt any pain.  So just relax if you feel sick (diarrhea especially) go get checked out just in case.  Good luck :)

  4. I delivered my son at 33 weeks. Two weeks prior to me going into labor, I had sharp pains in my private area. If I would swing my legs open to get out of a vehicle it would catch me off guard. The day that I was in active labor I had a doctors appointment. I woke up that morning with period like cramps, very mild but noticeable. That was around 9am-9:30. By the time I got to my Doctor it was around 1 or so and when I told him about my cramping he checked me and I had already dilated to 4 cm. I didn't have any prelabor contractions but that pain every now and then. He said if I had only told him what I was experiencing he could have probably stopped me from delivering so early. I didn't have any signs or symptoms prior to that morning.

    Good Luck and God Bless.

    This is my husbands account..lol

  5. I had back pain that started at 3 in the morning. I never took anything for it because it wasn't that bad, I just used a heating pad. Then at 7 I took a shower and when I came out, my water broke. Contractions were horrible after that. My son was born at 1219am

  6. Yes. All 3 of mine (and no drugs or pitocin)

The first was on her due date. I had a non-stress test that my baby fought the monitor to the point where she broke the water. All I felt was one cramp, wetness, and then hard contractions every 4 minutes. I was at 4 and then 6 two hours later. Then she was born 30 minutes after that (yes, I went from 6-10 in half an hour).

The second, I had a backache during the day, but nothing crampy at all. I woke up in the middle of the night because I had a small cramp and thought maybe my water broke. It did. It took an hour to leave the house and my husband had to carry me to the car. At the hospital, I was at 8. One hour later, she was born.

The third, I had mild cramps every 5 minutes for a couple hours when I thought I should be checked. I went to the hospital (with mild cramps - really just pinches, I thought for sure I'd be sent home.) I was talking and joking when I got there and was already at 10!

Yes, it can happen. I hope it happens this way for you!

    good luck
