  1. I've had a 2 on a par 5 but not a par 4 ace.  It actually happens quite often.  Many courses have driveable par 4's and thus you will see the occasional double eagle ,or albatross if you like, on a par 4.

  2. I've witnessed it once and also have a buddy who did last year.

The one I witnessed, I was playing with a guy at a course in Knoxville, TN.  I didn't know him and haven't ever seen him since, but we were both singles on a busy day, so we paired up to play.  Hole 3 is a Par 4 343 yards built around the lake.  There is a landing area about 175 yards from the tee that gives you a short iron onto the green.  This guy lined up his tee shot to the far inside of the tee box and hit his driver.  The shot requires 295 to carry the lake and he landed on the edge of the green.  When we got up to the green and started looking for the ball, the guys on the next tee alerted us that it had gone in.  It was a very cool shot.

Last year a good friend of mine aced a 244 yard par 4 in Nashville playing with his Dad for a birthday gift.  It is a sharp dogleg right around some trees, but they were cut back enough that he took a 3 wood off the tee toward the green and aced the hole.

  3. No, but happy gilmore did

  4. I've eagled a par 4 but never gotten a hole in one. I came close to a hole in one several times on par 3s.

  5. Happy Gilmore did

  6. I've gotten a 2, but not an ace.  There's only been one on the PGA Tour.

  7. only a birdie

  8. yeah. this dude at the local place hit drive from 315 yards away. it was sick

  9. I have managed to sink an ace on a par 4 but it seemed like it should have been a par 3. but hey, the score card said 4 so bonus for me!!!

  10. Andrew Magee did on tour becoming the first tour player to do so. I know of at least a half dozen that have. I personally know a man who did it at my home club.

  11. Actually yes, and it was on a dog leg 310 yard hole par 4.  I was behind my brother by 3 strokes and i cut the corner, hit the cart path bounced over a water hazard and somehow found its way to the hole.  Yes, i know it was pure luck and winning a lottery would be easier.  Other than that i have had only one other hole in one on a par 3, 162 yard hole which i made with a 6 iron.  :)

  12. yes, there are a few people who have done it. As i recall, a number of years ago, there was an old woman who did it. Old meaning like late 70s early 80s. She was an amateur,.... however, if you're talking pro, Andrew Magee did it at the TPC at scottsdale.

    About.com writes:

"Magee, just an average driver of the ball, didn't think he'd be able to reach the green on the 332-yard par-4. So he didn't wait for the group ahead to clear the green. Instead, he teed up, and - steaming over a double bogey two holes earlier - muscled up. He let her rip, and the ball went farther than he expected.

So far that it ran up onto the green while the group of Steve Pate, Gary Nicklaus and Tom Byrum were still putting. Byrum was in the address position, ready to putt, as Magee's ball bounded onto the green.

The ball kept rolling. Pate and Nicklaus followed its path, their heads turning to the track the ball. And the ball rolled right into Byrum's putter! It clanged off Byrum's putter, caromed about 10 feet, and dropped right into the cup.

Hole-in-one. Still the only par-4 ace on the PGA Tour, and surely one of the more unusual aces of any kind on the tour."

  13. i played with a man at my home club eyemouth golf glub and he got a hole in 1 on a par 4 when it was the old 9 hole course

  14. One of my friends I golf with almost scored an ace on a par 4. It was an uphill 269 yd hole. He used a driver and got the ball 4 feet away. Too bad he was so wound up, he got a bogey.

  15. I never had one, but I've heard of quite a few.  Andrew McGee did it on tour at the TPC Scottsdale.
