like an eyeball popped out or collapsed or something. Its beyond me why this doesn't happen all the time with the style of the gloves.

  1. think that is not happening to all martial artists bor..!!

...dont know why doesnt happen all the time,, if you feel you'll suffer from that just stop MMA if that is the case

  2. Sometimes people get vicious pokes to the eye.  It happens cause when you put your hand out to gauge the distance or to push off you'll have your palm open.  It happens less than you think, and I've only saw a few bad ones in recent years.  None of the eyes popped out =P

Worst one probably happened July 19th on Spike.  Kevin Burns has broken his left hand many times, and  it has become hard for him to make a fist at times.  He reach out right before throwing a huge right uppercut and his opponent, Anthony Johnson, crumbled.  Everyone thought the uppercut connected, but nope.  Before that when he extended his left arm he didn't have his hand closed and his finger went straight to the back of Anthony's eye.  Nasty stuff.

  3. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if somebody watching MMA on TV got so involved with the broadcast that he poked himself in the eye with a beer bottle!
