What are my chances of miscarrying after 12 weeks? How do you know if you've had a missed-misscarriage where the fetus dies but you never experience any bleeding?

  1. I have a friend who lost a baby at 4.5 months.  It was due to what they call and incompetent cervix-it dilated way too early and she miscarried.  By that point, however, you would be very aware of a miscarriage.

  2. Usually you would at least have some cramping- but maybe blow it off as normal.  Also, on your regular doctor visits, they would not be able to find a heartbeat, which would probably prompt an ultrasound.  I'd say the chances are very low as long as you have no other risk factors, and everything else is healthy.  After 12 weeks, they either call it a late miscarriage or not even a miscarriage at all.

  3. no

  4. I had a "missed" miscarriage.  I was technically 11 weeks and the baby stopped developing at 7 weeks and I never had any bleeding or cramping.  I just woke up one day and thought "something is wrong".  So I called the doc and told them that I was having bleeding (even though I wasn't) they did a US and found that I had miscarried.  It is normal to worry about your child, you will spend the rest of your life doing just that.  Try and stay positive and they risk of your having a miscarriage after 12 weeks is very minimal. Good Luck!

  5. you can still misscarry right up to the end of your pregnancy but the risk is greatly reduced after 12 weeks.you will only know if the baby is ok at your scans and when the midwife listens to the heart beat at your appointments. when the baby starts to move around so you can feel it ,it is reasurring to feel it because you know it is fine when it is kicking you in the ribs

  6. The chances of miscarriage after the first trimester are 3-5 percent.  A missed miscarriage you don't know till you see your doc and there is an absence of fetal heartbeat.  You can rest easy, there is a 95-97 percent chance that you will not miscarry
