  2. In 1973 I did not think ghost existed. I has newly married to my first wife and living in a small one bedroom house. One night I woke up and an old man was standing at the foot of my bed. I at first thought I was still dreaming and made sure I was awake and the old man was still there. At first I thought he had broke in the house and I started yelling at him to get out of my house and it woke my wife up and she started screaming when she saw this old man in our bedroom.

Just as I was about to get out of bed and escort him out physically, he then pointed his finger at me and said" NO! You get out of MY HOUSE" Then he just vanished. I did not believe my eyes and checked both doors and all windows and everything was locked.

Next day I was visiting with a school friend who was visiting his parents across the street and he grew up in that house, and I told him what happened and he looked pale, went inside and came out with a picture and asked me if that was the man in my house, and it was. My friend said the old man lived in our house his last days and died about 6 months before and he was attached to that small house. It did not take long to figure out the ghost thought I was the intruder.

  3. Yes, I didn't see him, though.  It was at my Mum's birthday party when all of us kids (8) got together with her.  Dad died a couple of years ago.  He suffered a lot in life, and died unhappy.  We all have issues with him - more or less.

That night my Mum's boyfriend said something really cutting to me in front of everyone (incl people not in my family) - embarrassing me greatly and hurting my religious sensibilities as well.

I was so upset I was completely ropable.  I ran off at about midnight, thinking that if someone mugged me or something, I didn't care.  I was SO upset.  I finally sat down next to a tree, as my hubby had told me that trees can talk to you and make you feel better.  I don't know, but at some point, I all of a sudden felt calm, and felt that there was an angel there with me, telling me to go home.

I walked home.  I was still fuming that my mother could have chosen such a jerk who hated me, and then she didn't even (ever) stand up for me.  I wanted to have a friendship with her boyfriend, but he had said to me that he didn't want any kind of relationship with me (that hurt).  Suddenly I felt/heard the words in my head that my relationship with my Mum's boyfriend didn't matter, because I still had my Dad.  I felt like he was walking beside me as I went back to my Mum's house.  If there was anyone on earth who could understand inner turmoil it is my Dad.  I felt peaceful.

The next morning I told my husband what had happened.  He told me that when we had photos - all the siblings together - he had seen my Dad standing with us.  It was so comforting to know that my Dad is there for me, and loves us all, even beyond the grave.

I felt his presence close again, when I was in hospital with complications in pregnancy with my third child.  Loved ones who have passed on can continue to watch over us.

  4. No.  No one ever has

  5. I have had 2 encounters with "ghosts", Once when I was in grade school, my mother and I had lived in a haunted house, I saw a lady in white walking down our stairs. that was creepy!!

the next was back in 1997, but I don't want to go into detail, it scared me half to death.

  6. This didn't happen to me, but it's a great story. The rock group "The Doors" were playing San Francisco in the late 60's and during the song "Break On Through" Jim Morrison started doing something like a native-american dance halfway through the song. As he was dancing, keyboard player Ray Manzarek swears he saw what looked like "indian ghosts" dancing alongside Morrison.

After the concert, guitarist Robby Kreiger also admitted to seeing "this weird fog" that surrounded Morrison during the song. Other stagehands also said they "felt weird" and spoke of "strange lights and music" during the song.

  7. I am Irish /Scottish/American Indian. Raised Catholic and in a rich culture, we always accepted such as part of "who" we are.  All the woman in my family are mediums, honestly. We all use that gift in different ways, and not for profit. I live in central Texas and have enjoyed knowing the spirits on my property and try to honor them.

Since I was a small child, I could "see" them, since past my twenties, I can just feel them and get dream messages.  I take great comfort in it.  Its not wild or crazy like TV.  Its calm and reassuring and each one is different in their essence (just like people).

My 3yr old can see them too..... I can tell, he is playing with a child at my farmhouse.  I did some archival research and it validated my belief....two children died of scarlet  fever in that old farm house in the 1930's.    I only can "feel" the one child and the mother.  I have seen Mom....literally walking the halls in the early morning/dawn hours and seen her standing over my infant son when he was sick.  When I learned her name, I called her and she stopped as if she heard me.  So  I talk to her all the time, and she moves my flowers and napkins on my kitchen table.   I have seen her daughter once, playing with a ribbon, but I don't know which child it is...so I don't call her by name. I do however leave a loose flower on the bathroom counter for her at times, I sense her laughing at times when I can't find my shoes.

One time Mom-put all the pillows in the middle of the bed.   That freaked me a bit, and then I found a unpaid bill under them.... she was helping me...it was the "gas" bill, and it would have dangerous if turned off/ on without a person there. It was a cold winter and she was a huge help to me.

She actually helped me with the old pot belly stove "heater for house", my husband was gone and we needed it on, and I asked for help and I left the room to call him, returned to find all the supplies I needed were within reach and in order to do the job. "not" where my husband put them.....she put them out for me.  Cool huh.

SO I call my Great Aunt, since its easier to say that, since most folks will think I'm nuts.

She is a very busy ghost, she has a routine.  I have seriously considered having  "tours" and introducing people. Yet, That would endanger her and we are both happy, so why .....you know.   And over night guests, love it.

No we don't do Halloween things there.... its just like an invisible family member.

  8. I've read about ghost stories--real ghost stories.

There was a woman who got a small house as an ornament. She put post cards and stamps and stuff like that. Sometimes, she could see a man wearing old-fashioned clothes walking around the house. She could see right through him, like it was a hologram. .

One day, her daughter visited her mother's house and took the house adornment with her. She put stamps and stuff like that. She saw the small man walking around her house. She decided to put different stuff in the small house, but the man kept walking around her house. The she just took everything out. The man was never seen again. But once in a while, she could see the shadow of a man walking around in the small ornamental house.

There are a lot of things like that, and they are very freaky. And it'll take too much space to write them all down. Just try to find real ghost stories in the non-fiction section of the library. That's where I found that story.

  9. my uncle died and i never got to the funeral and for two nights he appeared sat on a table under my bedroom window, so i took that as a sign for me and go and pay my last respects at his grave  which i did said my goodbyes and he never showed again after that

  10. oh dear again we get this question ....i have...on several occasions

  11. I have never seen one before. But I posted a question a day or two ago about orbs being found in some of my photos after I had a miscarriage. Which none showed up before I lost my baby. But when I was little, the house I lived in had a small child die in it many years prior to us moving in. At night I could hear crying sounds coming from the attic. My room was closest to the entrance to the attic. I did not hear the cries every night. But when I did, it always happened around 2 in the morning. I never told my parents because I knew that they would not believe me. I never have seen one in its form, but I have felt them and heard them. I do believe in them. I also believe that we should not try to contact them. This tends to open up doors that should not be opened. Back to the crying sound that I heard. It was that of a small girl who was sniffling. In the history of the house, we were told that there was a child who passed away in the house back in the 20's. I had a German Shepard while I was growing up who lived in the house with us, man I miss my dog Baron, that would shake and seemed frightened sometimes at night and jump in bed with me around 2 in the morning. He would whimper at the entrance of the attic and never would enter it with any of us if we needed to retrieve anything from there. He would also bark at nothing from time to time. I do not live there anymore of course. I moved out when I got married back in 1999. My dog got real sick after I moved out and passed away 3 months after I moved out. My parents do not live there anymore and I am curious to see if the new owners hear any strange noises at night like I did. I dont want to contact them because if they dont hear anything, then I would seem like a real nut job. I do not know why my dog got sick either. I do not know if he was sick because I left and moved to a different town or if he got sick for another reason. I was close to my dog Baron and I miss him so much. Needless to say I am rambling and this could had been kept short I suppose...Kimmie

  12. I think so... (don't mind me - I posted this before for another question, so I'll just copy & paste what I said)...

I used to be more of a skeptic, until one morning I woke up earlier than usual, thinking it was 7am. I looked around, wondering WHY I was awake, only to notice it was actually 5am in the morning. After a while, I noticed my bedroom was strangely cold and got up (without turning the lights on) to check on the heater, which I had turned on the night before going to sleep. It was oddly switched off, so I turned it back on and hopped back into bed. After a few minutes, I couldn't get to sleep because I felt like someone was in my bedroom. Assuming it was either one of my parents, I sat up in bed only to see a dark figure standing over the heater. The bottom half of its body didn't seem to exist - and immediately after noticing this, I panicked. I tried to force myself back to sleep, but was so scared I couldn't. Eventually, I convinced myself it was some sort of 'light trick' and got out from under the bed sheets to switch on my lamp. When I did, the figure was not there. I felt like an idiot, you know, foolish and all - so I turned the light out. Just then, I saw it come back - watch me for a couple of seconds and then disappear. Since then, I haven't been afraid of them and I do believe it them - but I don't think I want to experience that sort of thing again. I almost had a heartattack!

Then again, to really believe in a ghost, you need to experience something unexplainable to yourself. And even then, the only one who will really believe you - is yourself.

Anyway, I had another time where I saw some sort of white glowing ball thingy floating above the bed. I have no idea what it was - but it was about the size of a basketball and had electrical sparks around it. I woke up one night around 2am or so and just 'saw' it there... but then I just fell asleep.

    That's all I've had really...

  13. Well, from my experience the concept of a ghost can apply to several very different entities. However, yes, I suppose I've seen what you would call a ghost. I've been involved in spiritual//metaphysical things for a while, and things like ghosts tend to sort of pop up everywhere around me. What I saw were dead "identities" that hadn't left the three-dimensional world yet and were basically stuck. They talked, too, and were quite friendly for being dead...

  14. yes, i have been ever seen it before.

Ghost, what it is? I don't believe in this such of thing before, but when i had seen it, I trust it is real.

what does it shape? It doesn't have the actual shape that we can observe it clearly. The first time i saw it, it is just a blur shape.

  15. No one has, because there is no such thing as ghosts.

  16. Piratica

, I couldn't begin to tell you ........... lets just say....they are the same as you and me...just do not have bodies.....very few would have any horsepower at all........if they can make thier presence known  at all.....some can flow emotion at you.........they flow fear ocasionally.....because it will have an effect.........locate the direction and location of the flow.......and you are looking at......the awareness unit.....the kindest thing to do is to give the little blighter........directions to the nearest new source of a body..........hospital or whatever.....they all vary in thier awareness, intelligence, etc. and are as unique as you or I..there are an awful lot of them...they're harmless as far as I know...some are evil or insane just like us...but without bodies...not dangerous...thats hollywood stuff.

  17. I believe in the spirit world and have had lots of experiences when they have made contact. Please dont believe people who will tell you that its demons and fallen angels - Spirits are energy, and energy cant die. Spirits can contact people they care about and let them know that they are around them without the use of a medium, they can do this by:

Lights: Many times some people can experience flickering of lights in the room, or new light bulbs burn out instantly. More often than not your lights are effected when a spirit spends a lot of time around you or when they want to get your attention.

T.V: Spirits have been known to effectively scramble pictures on the tv set.

Radios: Many clock radios next to loved ones' bed will turn on at different hours, sometimes it is the hour that has some importance to the person who has passed away. Many times a radio with go on when a particularly significant song is on the air.

Music: many times in their own way spirits are able to impress you with a song or you may think about them when a song is played on the radio.

Clocks: A clock will stop at the exact moment the person has passed over or a clock or watch will stop working for no reason.

Telephones and answering machines: After someone dies it is possible to recieve a phone call and no one is on the other side, or you could hear the voice of the person . in some cases it has been recorded.

Appliances: Appliances have been know to stop or start working at different times when no one is around them.

Other signs are smells or the scent of the person, a favourite perfume, gifts are another sign, a spirit sends gifts and material items but we do not connect that they are from loved ones. Spirits can impress us to buy things or go to shops where things we like are there and we buy them. Animals are also used by the spirit . Many times a spirit being can influence a bird or small animal to come by us to get our attention in some way.

My dad died nearly three years ago. He was very sick with a terminal ilness. The final days of his life he was talking about the fact he wanted to catch up with his mum and his brother also crossed over. And thats all he talked about. All of us kids (there are 6 and we are all adults of varying ages 30 - 40 and all educated to varying degrees). The day before he passed away I felt realy happy and carefree as if I was going on a trip. I was singing a couple of dads favourite songs including a favourite of his called "I am going back to where I come from". I had to remind myself that I was not going anywhere of significance and still I felt light hearted and free. at 7 the next morning mom rang to tell me that dad had died at 5.15 that morning. Now I have a clock with a picture of my son as a baby on it on my night stand and it stopped at 5.15. My sister rang me that day and told me when she heard the news that she had thought "poor dad what will become of him? and got a very clear answer back "we have him" in her mind.

The next few months all of us reported that we had had experiences of dad speaking with us in dreams or in my sisters case she actually heard him play his harmonica to her but when she went to investigate it stopped. My pet name that my dad called me was Lucy and when I was in a shopping mall I had this urge to go to the public notices where people advertise things for sale and there was a advert for a lost dog called "hello Lucy".

It has been believed for 100's of years that the dead return in spirit and lets us know they are alright in lots of subtle ways. Because spirits are energy they communicate through electricity. I asked dad alound once "if you are here make a light globe explode and several went off that week", the house was new and all the globes had been replaced a couple of weeks before.

Spirits communicate through so many signs. Keep a look out. When my dad was cremated I stood at a pond and said a prayer and my partner was squinting and could of sworn he saw a old guy in a hat of the 40's walking by out of the corner of his eye and then it was gone..................my dad wore hats and the clothes he described were what my dad was dressed in at his cremation.............

You might be on the bus and notice something of significance on a bill board. My dad loved the 202 rifle as he had learnt to shoot in the army. After he was cremated my family went to a favourite place and got some fish and chips. The guy called out their number for their order and it was 202....................

In the parapsychology section someone posted a question about ghosts a few weeks ago and regularily people post questions - there are alot of questions posted in Mythology also and 20-30 people will share their experiences of contact with the deceased. I have quite a few in my question section which was resolved. Spirits exist and they can make contact to let us know they are ok. And spirits can haunt too they come back for all sorts of reasons and many people report regularily on this forum of their experiences both good and not so good depending on the individual and that tells me there must be some truth in it. People who say there are no such thing as spirits just are not open to them abd are very closed minded even if there were spirits around them they may not sense it. I will always believe.

  18. Yes, I have.  Once when I was lying in my bed, my door open just a bit and I thought it was my cat comming into my room. But, I was wrong it was a ghost and she was dressed in white and had blonde hair. She came into my room and the dissappeared through the wall. It took me a few seconds to realize that a ghost just came into my room.  I knew she was probably a good sprit, but I didn't want to take any chances so I called a priest to come bless my house.  That was not the only experience that I had. I had 2 more after that.  I was asleep in my bed and tried to stretch out my legs but was unable to.  Someone or something was blocking my way and I could not move my legs. I also saw that my bed looked like that someone was sitting at the end of my bed.  The next time this sprit  desided to come to visit he desided to pull me off my bed. I was scared to death.  Good thing whoever it was left.

The last experiece I had and hope to have was a few yrs ago.  This happened after my friend passed away. He would play with the mobil on my babies crib and make it move around.  Then one night he desided that he would visit my body for a while. When he left I was very weak and scared.  I called a friend that practices voodoo and she came to get him out of my house it was an experience to see how she called him into her and told me what he looked like and then I knew it was Dave. I am glad he is gone and hope he is finally at piece.  These experiences my sound off the wall but are very true and I hope that I don't ever have to encounter any thing that isn't alive and that I can see through.

  19. I've definitely had my experiences with ghosts, entities, experienced impish jokes brought on by either my manifestation or there really are powerful types of ghosts, one in particular called poltergeist. It means 'noisy ghost' is German. Usually these are residual electromagnetic fields lingering and move around in their own plasmas dimension. Poltergeists are considered adolescence because of unfulfilled and frustrating sexual energy. Sexual energy is very powerful, and these virgin ghosts can move things in our dimension, they can make a light flicker suddenly, or even walk-in your body.

My brother who committed suicide haunted me for years, he has stopped because finally I got it that he was still around. It was really tough, because at the time I could not and would not believe in anything that wasn't tangible. It was difficult for him as well, trying for years to come through to me. He has succeeded and still lingers because he wasn't finished with his life here on Earth when he died. He is still here, the difficult issue for him is that there are people here who he loves but communication is difficult.

  20. my sister worked and still works in healthcare, and so do I, but she saw a pilgram lady in the kitchen 2 different times.  (((OOOH FREAKY))) and 1 time i fell asleep in the bathtub, and at 2:45 am (which was the time i was born))) I woke up and my chin was under the water I saw 2 angels with no faces. It was cool. It probably my Guardian Angel.

  21. never actually  seen one though sometimes i hear a sound  in the place below the electrical power box in my house that sounds like something is in there. sometimes it sounds like something is trying to get out. never figured it out. once when i first moved in i heard a scratching sound like something was being moved  on the outside wall on the right of my house . it sounded like something  scratching  inside a mettalic container that was not used for the mail. when i went to look i did not see anything i thought it might be mice or rats but  as i said i did not see anything.

  22. ya it was creepy, i was at a birthday party and it went  really late and only there were a few girls left, we were drinking a little but we were not wasted, one of the girls screamed and just started staring at this one area in her house, and she was dead serious that she saw a lady that looked in her 30's in the garage area were the door was open. we believed her because the girl who's birthday it was has seen it before exactly how she discribed it.

  23. Once at my last house there was what I thought could have been a negitive and/or evil spirit in the house.  Just before you came into the cellar, there was this light bulb with this long string hanging from it, and we always had to pull it to get the light on.  One day when my sister went in there she pulled on that string to find it had been tied in a noose.  She was quite terrified at the sight, she called me over to see it and it was tied in a perfect noose, from the little loop to the three nots at the top, it was amazing!

In that same house I had a visit while I was sleeping, something chipped off my light and threw it under the bed.

    And this is all true!!!

  24. my collie died on thursday and last night i felt her head on my leg and i felt and saw the outline of her in bed with me.  no you are not crazy.   some spirits if they loved you that much in life never leave

  25. Here's my experience:

I am staying in a borrowed flat in London. After the firstfull day of sightseeing, I come back, lay across the bed propped up reading, and I am facing away from the door and towards the window. Under the window is a TV set, turned off. I look up at the TV set and see, reflected from the foyer behind me, a guy standing there in 17th century garb, like the powdered wig & stuff? He's turning back & forth, side to side, as if he is checking out the room I am in. I am startled and spin my head around. Nothing there. I spin my head back and there is nothing reflected in the TV set anymore, but I KNOW I saw something...

Next day, afterwalking all over London for 6 hours, I come back to the flat, toss off my coat in the foyer and sprawl perpendicular across the bed. As the bed is still rocking a bit, I VERY DISTINCTLY hear five footsteps across a wooden floor (there were no carpets) and just after the footsteps stop, a cold wave kind of washes over me... I feel like my molecules are vibrating? (weird but that's what it felt like)... It felt as if someone had walked across the floor and jumped on top of me... someone cold...

So I start thinking "It's OK. Whoever you are, I am harmless. I am just passing through. I mean no ill will" and stuff like that. The coldness fades away, and after that, over the next few days, all was quiet until I flew home later in the week...

  26. How do you define ghost? Must it be seen? Is ghost physical? I don't think i've seen a ghost, but I asked the same question to several people, and besides all sorts of crazy answers (and confusion) what I learnt was that they all have different definition of what qualifies "it" as a ghost.

  27. I live in an old historic german settlement in the middle of nowhere in Australia.  The settlement was started in the mid 1800's and was pretty much abandoned by 1920.  There are still many of the original buildings here including 2 churches, a school, and the cemetery.  I live in one of the churchs, and the other buildings are set up as a museum and storage.  It would be rare for a day or night to go by that we didn't have some sort of visitor.  There's a little girl, who I believe is named Louise who plays in the loft of my residence.  There is a man dressed in black who sits on the verandah of the other church.  We think he might be the original owner of the land here. He's buried in the cemetery.  There is an old woman who yells in German.  Doors open and close on their own.  The kitchen blinds have a mind of their own...  Small items get thrown from the loft...  When my partner is away at night there are several plump little ladies dressed in flowery dresses (I assume it's their Sunday going-to-church dresses) who hang around in the church with me after lights out.  I think they are here to keep an eye on me when I am alone.  I have 3 pet kangaroos who live inside at night.  They have a food bowl in the laundry area.  Some nights all three of them will come flying in here like they been chased and will refuse to go back in there until I go back with them.  I know it all sounds a bit freaky, and unlikely, but most people who spend time here agree that we are not alone.  I don't find it to be at all frightening.  In fact, I think I feel safer here than anywhere else I have ever lived.

  28. well, when i was fourteen, i was lying in bed and i saw and heard an electric spark near the ceiling.

  29. You don't need to apologize for your curiosity, you are fully entitled to ask anything you want to ask about.

I think maybe when I was a child I may have encountered one but since then my rational adult mind (and parents' influence)has explained everything away. I do however distinctly remember waking from sleep as a child and sensing a man standing by my bed. When I looked there was a man shape right above me wearing glasses, felt hat and white shirt. I squeezed my eyes shut and when I looked again there was no one there. Later in the morning I heard that my grandfather who I had never met had died on his way to reconcile with my mother and meet me. When i saw his picture I was sure it was him who had been standing by my bed (down to the hat he was wearing). Of course I was told it wasn't possible and I believe it...half-heartedly. I cant think what the sane explanaton would be and even if it was only a dream, it was still eerie.

  30. Yes several

  31. In Nashville one night after clubbing i spent the night at a woman's house. I happened to wake up just before dawn and she was still asleep next to me so i spent a few minutes watching her sleep and turned to look at the clock it was about 5am and the sun was coming up.

I happened to look to the foot of the bed and saw a woman staring at me with red hair and a dark green sundress  . I thought maybe she had a roommate or it was her daughter or something (my date was 45) but it dawned on me that this woman who seemed to be in her early twenties at most had the saddest look in her eyes. I couldn't tell iit was a look of just utter sadness, hate or what and as i moved my hand to wake Deborah (the woman who lived in the house) the red haired woman just faded away like a mist but pretty quickly.

I went back to sleep because even though it was a very strange experience i didn't feel threatened by it and i actually felt kind of sorry for whoever the mystery woman was. Several hours later Deborah and i went out to eat and we ran out of stuff to talk about and i just flat out told her "You know i think your house is haunted." She looked at me and her eyes got as big as saucers and i thought "oh great now she thinks i'm insane." but she just said "You are the first person who has been to visit me who mentioned that first. I tell people all the time but no one believes me." She asked how i knew and i told her what i saw. She said she had instances of getting up and taking a shower and when she got back to the bedroom drawers would be opened and so forth. She told me about things coming up missing and the usual electronics turning on and off.

We did eventually stop seeing each other but years later when my daughter was born i noticed weird stuff happening in her bedroom like a Winnie The Pooh lamp fly across the room and crucifixes (my baby's momma is Catholic) being taken down and hidden under beds and so forth. I would also see shadows of people when there was no one in the house and when she was about 6 my little girl asked her grandfather who the man was helping him make Tamales and he told he was the only man in the house. He said when my daughter asked "Well who is the guy next to you?" he was terrified and had my parents come pick her up. Later on he showed her some photos and when my Daughter saw a picture of her greatgrandfather from her grandmother's side (who she never met) she told him that was the guy who was standing next to him when he was making tamales. He was also known to be a devout Catholic who didn't like crucifixes because he "didn't like to see Jesus' suffering."

Those are my tales and why i became interested in paranormal research. People have told me i'm psychic but i just think "psychics" are just good at reading people's emotional states so i don't buy much into that. i strongly believe in ghosts after what i've seen but i haven't seen or experienced anything like i used to.
