Has anyone ever had an upgrade from Singapore airlines?

I have heard it is impossible & the staff will laugh if you ask.

I doubt they'll laugh.  What do you mean by having an upgrade?  Are you suggesting that a person simply ask for a better seat w/out paying the higher price?  I doubt that would happen with almost any airline.  Especially w/ all the financial problems they are all having.  What I do know about Singapore Airlines is that they were by far my favorite airline when I flew them back in the 90's.

I got one once a few years back. It was on the way back to Hong Kong and I was to change planes at Changi. Due to a delay at take off my changeover was going to be very tight indeed. I mentioned this to the flight attendant and the next thing I knew was that they were moving me into business so that I could exit quicker !!!

A right touch indeed considering it was a 10 hour flight !! fond memories indeed.

Having said all of that I've always found Singapore to be quite fantastic anyway, always a pleasure to fly with them.
