I have blurriness in my right eye. My optometrist said it was fluid and that my body will get rid of it. Has anyone ever experienced this before. And is it going to go away. my eye has like a shadow or film over my pupil.

  1. I have had that happen to me before and it went away after two weeks or so.

  2. It sounds like central serous retinopathy, which normally completely or almost completely recovers without treatment, over the course of some weeks.

That's something that "just crops up" for no known reason, but it is more common in people who are stressed or over-tired.

But there, there would normally be some further investigation to see if it was one of the rarer cases where treatment was advisable.

(I both know about that professionally, and have had it personally)

Corneal oedema from contact lens over-use would also fit your description, if you are a wearer.

  3. I don't know if this is the same thing or not, but I get a similar film or blurriness over my eyes when I go swimming without goggles.

I don't know if my eye absorbed some kind of fluid out of the water or what, but it gets blurry if I swim without goggles or my goggles wind up letting water in.

It usually goes away and clears right up after a few hours, a day at the most.
