  1. Oryx is an African antelope and is endangered. Since it's already dead you might as well eat it - prepare and cook like venison. Just don't eat any more - there aren't that many left.

  2. I imagine you'd cook it like any wild game. Here are some game links with recipes-

  3. never heard of it but it sounds interesting.

  4. Yes.... and it is not endangered or illegal or anything like that, ignore the environut kittyfreak... They are large antelope's but not just from Africa, they can be found in TX, NM, etc... pretty much the southwest through the midwest.  Looks like a small horse with long horns, about 3-4 feet.

Tastes kinda like a cross between venison and boar, a little tough for my tastes but definately not bad. Had it in sausages once too and it was actually really good.

On an interesting side note, the Oryx was supposedly one of the primary meat sources for ancient egyptians...

  5. I'm from North Africa...I've never heard of that though, it sounds interesting!! Keep us posted:)!!

  6. I found a simply excellent site that has pics and describes Oryx meat and shares recipies.  Please check it out, I believe that you will find answers there.
