Has anyone ever had the skin around a tattoo bruise?

Okay, i had some tattoo's done on my pelvis, lower stomach, area and I’m concern that the artist really f**k up. I got some stars and moons running across my lower stomach and one star in particular has what I though was a bruise around it. I eventually thought would go away. Originally the star was pink and I had him go over it again and change the color to purple. And that was why I thought it bruised up since my skin was tender as is. After a couple of weeks, it hasn’t gone away. I had other tattoo’s done before and never had this problem. Is it because the artist went in to deep into my muscle instead of the skin (dermis layer)?? And will the ink spread causing the bruise to look bigger?? I got this professionally done too. So I will be going back to figure this out. But in the mean time I need advise if this happen to anyone before.

  1. I have a stomach piece I am working on.  It was sensative to the touch much longer then any of my other pieces.  You bruise might be the fact that too much ink was injected and you have what is called a blow out, when the skin cells actually have the ink burst out of them and spread.

  2. Nope, I have 9 tats and never had any look bruised. One of the tats was done really deep, it didn't bruise just bled a lot.

  3. dont worry about the bruising. Its not a blowout, those dont look like bruises. he didnt go to deep. i have two regular clients that bruise everytime i tattoo them, it can take a few weeks for it to go away. in the area you described the skin is sometimes hard to stretch and the added pressure will cause bruising, it is nothing to worry about

  4. I bruise really easily and have had bruises a number of times after having a tattoo, but then I bruise if someone touches me!
