Has anyone ever had this type of Virus before? (also says "SECURITY ALERT!"?

i swear this is weird. this virus will not let me do anything. i cant update windows, or run a scan on Microsoft's website. it just put a huge window for my wall paper telling me that spyware has been detected on my computer. oh, and IE. im using Firefox right now, and so the windows website wont let me do a lot of things because i dont have IE running.

ask me anything if you want me to get specific. but honestly, i will try anything. ii've been scaning my system with AVG as well as spybot. nothing really has changed.

AVG & spybot will not remove it.

It is not a virus, you have smitfraud or a rogue program.

The wallpaper you have described is a dead give away, you are most likely infected with XP Anti-Virus 2008, a rogue AntiSpyware program thats solely designed to get you to fork over money to pay for their product. It will change your wallpaper, deny you access to certain windows functions and prompt you to purchase their software.
