  1. Try this, at the bottom of the Daily Racing Form past performances you will see the Trainer/Jockey win %. Look for a T/J win % of 25 % or more. If the Jockey riding today is different than the Jockey that rode last, bet this horse to win. You will not get a play in every race and you will not win every race you bet, but this will get you a winner now and then. Remember, you will not win every race, one out of four is what an expert handicapper can win. Are you an expert?

  2. www.reyenterprise.com

  3. drf, eqiubase, use these hand to hand and read everything the class, records of owner, trainer, jockey and horse.look for home stretch mainly on the outside lane roughly 7-10 wide or closer and remember the rail kills in 60% of races..but remember to the average handicapper is only18% correct in picks but if bet right way which is the hard part only brings home 60% of winnings unless he hits a huge pick 6.i dont play chalks i look for a 6-10to 1 overlayif there is more then 1 then i go exotics bet and i never box more then4 entries.if i cant find anything but chalks i sit out or i will play parlays for show.the best bettor is the cheap one the one that bets only minimum and build up from there to have a full day of racing not broke after one race

  4. 30 years of betting horses, knowing trainers, owners, jockeys/drivers, reading the racing form like people read bibles, gambling thousands and thousands a week, and the only thing I can really say is, I hope none of our kids, god kids, nieces or nephews ever get hooked like I am...better to save your money or buy property ...and yeah I'll probably be at the track tomorrow...

  5. yes, at keenland

  6. My advice is to read several books on handicapping so as to acquire some skills that will improve your chances to make a profit. Be able to quickly interpret and digest all the information

on the DRF; throw out all the "also rans" and narrow down the field, or just skip a particular race. This is basic handicapping.

You mention the word "system".  These  are methods used to  find the best horse or horses in a race. Some systems are elaborate and involve math, like , adding speed rating + track bias +dosage index minus your shoe size. There are even calculators to do these "systems" for you. Doesn't matter, all systems , even if they seem OK at first, eventually don't work!

Then there are "Angles". Examples: Last minute change of equipment, like shoes; betting based upon how the tote board odds change; Only one filly and five colts in the same race?, etc. Angles (and there are many) have merit.

Again ,stick with basic handicapping techniques. This "really works" ,and will improve your chances of cashing in at the window.

Here are some ideas for books to read:

or just read the old standards by Tom Ainslie or Andy Beyer..

Another" tip": Avoid people who give these (although a "tipsheet" sold at an unfamiliar track , if you didn't do your homework, might be worth a purchase at a buck ,or so.).
