I'm trying to obtain a work visa for the kuwait embassy but experiencing difficulty finding a hospital, clinic or lab that test for microfilaria. The kuwait embassy is also asking for lab tests for malaria....is it that difficult to enter kuwait? Microfilaria is caused by worms in the heart of dogs?

  1. Filariasis is the human condition. It is common in India.

Test done in Kuwait on people showed: The overall prevalence of filarial antigenaemia was 18·3 % (192 individuals) using the ICT and 20·3 % (213 individuals) using the TropBio assay. Given these facts it is logical that they would require testing. Microfilaria is know to cause heartworm in dogs also but can and is found in humans.

  2. no i definetly never heard of that.
