Has anyone ever heard of having a sharp pain swallowing while on Paxil?

When I swallow food or liquids, there is a sharp pain for a few seconds. Plus, my throat has been itching for the last week which is the same time I started taking Paxil. I went to the doctor this morning, but they told me to stop taking it.

Could this be a side effect or allergy? Thanks!

Probably not the paxil, General U. Grant first had sharp pains after biting into a peach (and swallowing) turns out he had throat cancer. You need to have this checked out pronto.
