I am supposed to be going to a discussion on discount travel tonight. They said I was guaranteed either a Lincoln Navigator, 2500 cash, a five night cruise or a 32" tv

Is this for real?

  1. probably not. there are a lot of "prizes" that actually just want you to buy something or steal your personal info

  2. If you attend the sales presentation, you will be subjected to a high-pressure sales speech where they will continue to talk until you purchase their product -- which likely WILL be a timeshare or something similar.  The catch is that if you do not continue to listen to the presentation until they finish, you will not win anything.  And, they will not be finished until you buy something.  So, spend a lot of money on a vacation property, and you will win the prize.

Oh yes.  And likely the prize will be the cruise, but you will have to pay your way to the ship from your location.  And, likely, other expenses will not be included.

Most people would consider this to be a scam.

Remember, unless we are talking about something of the nature of the Nobel Prize, then you will never win anything in a contest or drawing that you did not previously enter.  You didn't enter this contest, so the prize is not real.  Period.

And...... sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

  3. MARK IT AS SPAM!!

  4. no, its not.

    waste of time

  5. Without knowing more of the details I'd say no....what does your gut tell you?

  6. I have never heard of them but my advise would be NOT TO GO!  Never go anywhere you don;t feel comfortable with. These days anyone can get your cell number, call you and tell you that you won a price.  If you are simply too intrigued, have a friend go with you (preferably a big guy for security) and tell several people where you will be going and at what time you expect to return.  Honestly, if you have to go through so much trouble to go somewhere, it's probably not worth it.  Plus, it sounds too good to be true.

Always listed to your gut instinct.  It's usually right.

  7. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

  8. It's a timeshare promo. Those NEVER pay off. You're much better investing the money.
