Has anyone ever heard of the Gasthof Helgoland

in Westgrossefehn, Germany? I heard of it many years ago when I was taking a German class in high school.

    Here is the website to Gemeinde Großenfehn, which includes Westgroßenfehn. They have contact info that might help you get a hold of someone from the area that would know.

    Edit: LaFeeFan is absolutely correct about the sharp S. I have an advantage in that I'm using a German keyboard and it has all the German letters on it.


  2. ß is called sz [eszed] in Germany, and it is used instead of a double s, expecially in name of places and streets (Straßen)

    If you want to use it, and you have windows vista, just press the "Num" key, hold the Alt-key and type 225 on the numeric part of the key-board (want work with the numbers on the top line of the regular keyboard)
