Has anyone ever heard of the brand called "mom to mom" ?

I'm assuming it's a new brand by Safeway food stores. They sell formula, pampers, ointment, baby wash, wipes, baby lotions and powders. I guess it is a generic brand for the store. It looked decent and I compared the ingredients on the formula to the one I normally get (similac) and they were just about identical. I opted for the cheaper one (the mom to mom one). The cost for the 25oz can of powder similac would have been $25 while the other one was only $15. I also got some pampers in that brand for $15 versus what I normally pay for huggies in the same size and amount at $25. I don't know, my baby was sleeping by the time I got home so I didn't get a chance to try these products out but I am curious if anyone else has. Thanks!

  1. If i were you i would return the diapers before you open them. They are so hard and huge they're horrible! It was a waste of money if you ask me. Their old brand of diapers were a lot better!!

  2. Never heard of it sorry

  3. lol...girl you must be reading my mind!!  I need diapers so when I was at Safeway today (and yes that is their new generic brand name) I stood there for LITERALLY 10 mins with the diapers in my hand trying to decide!!  They were $10.00 cheaper a pack!!!!!  BUt then I chickened out because I wasnt sure if they were the same as Huggies (and Pampers shape doesnt work with my son).

Can you email me when you try them and let me know how they were??  I am excited to see these answers!!

  4. I used the expensive formula for the first three months.   I couldn't stand spending $41 on a can per week, so I switched to the store brand stuff with exactly the same ingredients (not Mom-to-Mom but still generic).  My daughter's digestive system was much happier with the cheaper stuff, and I was only paying $20 a can.

My daughter is now 28 months and we are potty training.  I just got some Mom-to-Mom "pull-ups".  I REALLY like them.  They are super cute and have a really nice, wide elastic wasteband.  I will definately buy that brand again.

  5. Generic is just as good as name brand in most cases and if you compared ingredients then it's fine. I used generic for my girls when I didn't have the money to buy brand and they are fine. I used to use the albertsons brand stuff.

  6. Never heard of the brand, however baby formula is tightly regulated and controlled.  The store brand should be as safe and good for your child.  Save the money and get the cheaper stuff.  Consumer Reports studied the regular and off brands and recommended cheaper because it's the same!

If you are going to be switching formula, you may need to do it gradually.  If you are going to be doing 4 scoops, start with one mom to mom and 3 other.  It may make the transistion easier on tummy.

  7. all formula has to pass the FDA so generics are just as good they have all the same stuff in it..as for the diapers I have used all kinds of store brands and found them to be a waste of money. They do hold up as well as pampers or Hughie's with the fit. They also leak at least for me. I do like Luvs which are a better deal then the other cuz you get more in a box. Target has Luvs cheaper then any retail store I have found. so Save the money on the formula but maybe not the diapers.

  8. mom to mom is new.  The product is made for moms by moms. Everything was given approval by them.  The babies on the packages are the babies of the mom's who tested the product too.  www.momtomom.com

  9. nope

  10. You should check with your baby's doctor before switching your formula at all and especially when using generics.  The ingredients might be the same, but the formula will probably be a bit different.
