Question:

Has anyone ever heard of using rhubarb leaves or the water from boiled rhubarb leaves to kill ants/anthills?

There are 2 humungous ant hills in an area I want to clean up for pasture for goats & sheep. The anthills have been there for a few years but every year get larger. They are about 6 - 8 ft in diameter. I read all the suggestions. I tried the boric acid & sugar before in a small area at another place awhile ago but it took a few repeats before they were gone. Someone has told me about using rhubarb leaves but no details about how to use the leaves. I thought I would ask before I tried it in case someone has done it successfully or tried it and it didn't work. Thanks.

  1. No

  2. Use a mix of cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle it here and there. The ants will come and pick up the sugar, along with the cinnamon, and take it back to their queen. Ants can’t digest cinnamon and once the queen dies from not being able to digest the cinnamon the colony will die without her.

  3. I was told to use Boric Acid and Honey.. I tried it outside the kitchen window and the ants have been gone for two seasons now.

I'd be interested if there is another solution. Don't want to limit myself.
