Question:

Has anyone ever just *asked* Prince Charles if he is a convert to Islam?

All this speculation. Why doesn't someone set up an interview and just ask him? Or have they already? I think this would be a matter of profound importance to the people of the UK, where the heir apparent to the British Crown is involved.

  1. your avatar says it all about you, your as daft as a duck

  2. People of Islamic value are probably not the most popular in the world right now.

To associate and exploit an heir to the British Crown with Islam might be frowned upon and cause some weird and uncomfortable reflection around the world.

I'm not sure if they've asked him or not, but...

They (the media) probably don't have the guts to ask him.

    On a personal note:

I'm not a big advocate of "God", but if Prince Charles wants to believe in "Allah", I could care less.

It shouldn't be a big deal if he did convert, but if it's found that he did, you know people will make a huge fuss out of it.

  3. Why don't you ask him yourself, Brant? I'm sure he'd be thrilled to answer...

  4. He can't convert without giving up the throne as the British monarch is also the Supreme governor of the Church of England.

I haven't heard this rumour though. What speculation?

  5. If prince Charles admitted to being Islamic he would not be able to be King because the monarch is the head of the Church of England. So even if he did convert, which i don't think he did, do you really think he would admit it?

  6. i dont think anyone has asked him about this rumour.maybe we should wait or maybe you can go and ask him

  7. He is a member of the Church of England which is called the Anglican church.  He recently was in America and visited services here.

  8. Such a cretinous question could only come from a hysterical and paranoid - probably American -fool.

Apart from the constitutional issues, from everything known about Charles, if he were to change his religion, it would, if anything, be to Buddhism.

It appears 'hunt the covert Muslim' is replacing 'hunt the covert g*y' as a favoured sport among American idiots - how long before it spreads to British idiots? Unfortunately, I suspect, not long.

PS - and only an American could make the mistake this silly goose has made - Charles has long been committed to a multicultural and multifaith society in the UK, and the intention to be described as 'defender of faith' comes from this inclusive attitude.  The claim that the Archbishop of Canterbury was miffed is interesting to say the least - are you sure you're not confusing him with the potty Bishop of Rochester?

And finally, I prefer the BBC and the British broadsheet press, which gave a more reliable account  of Charles' position on religion, to the internet, one of whose weak points is that it gives a platform to gaggle after gaggle of silly, honking people.
