This is a phenomenon I would like to research more. I have talked to several people who lost someone they loved to murder and they said they had a dream of their lloved one telling them good bye and that they were okay and not to worry. If you had something like this happen to you, how much time went by before you had the dream? Did it make you feel better or sad? When you had the dream did you feel the love they had for you like it was there in the room with you when you woke up?

  1. Kinda.

My mother went into a coma when I was 8 and died when I was 15.5.  Ten years later When I was about 25 I had a dream that I was in my family's den and my mother was laid out like the day she was buried.  She was laying in a coffin at the end of the den.  My stepmother and 3 sisters were in the room as well.   The fact that my deceased mother was in the den did not seem to bother any of us.  All of a sudden she sat straight up and smiled a big broad smile.  I was excited and shouted out Mom, you're alive.  She continued to smile and said she just wanted to see how everyone was doing.  I told my sister to go get a drink of water because she must be thirsty.  I wondered how this would work out between my dad and my stepmother , now that my mother was alive again.  We helped her to the sofa so she could relax and she never lost her smile.

Then someone said there was a ghost outside and I looked out the window and there was a woman floating just above the ground , bobbing up and down...moving down the road.

I chased after the ghost and caught up to her and I continued to run until I was actually in the aura of the ghost and I was consumed by it.  I remember thinking it felt so good and warm like an o****m.  Then I woke up.

I think my mother came back to see how were were doing and let us know she was proud of us, but I do not know what the ghost means.

It is the only dream I ever remember having about my mother.

  2. I have had it happen to me on two occasions. The first time, a friend of mine passed away in highschool. I had known her for a long time. She died in a terrible car accident where another one of by good friends was driving. She turned out okay, but ofcourse had alot of guilt about it.

One night while I was sleeping the girl who died came to me in a dream. She was about 10 years old, short hair and pudgey. I did not recognize her but she told me it was her "Kristen". I said, wow you are so young, you look really different. She explained to me that this was when she was the happiest (that age) and that she is okay. She said to let Lindsay (the girl who was driving) know that she is happy now.

When my Grandma passed away, I had a dream about her. She was in her upper 30's dressed in clothes from the 50's with an apron on. She was with a shorter woman, and she too was telling me she was okay. I told my mom about it and described the other woman. She showed me a photo of my Grandma in that timeframe, and it looked just like her. The woman with her, looked just like her sister (who was also in the photo). Gave us all chills. I did feel the love, but also a feeling that we just don't understand that where death is tragic for us, it is not for them. Each time, they got to choose how old they wanted to be in heaven. When were you the happiest? IMHO, and with my experiences that is who you get to be when you die. That is your true spirit. I got the feeling they were more worried about us.

  3. Not a dream, but an occurrence where my mother did move on and say goodbye.

While she was alive, we all used to joke with her - especially me and my youngest sister, that we never wanted her to come in "Spirit" form and see us, or contact us, as that would scare us, and we didn't want to be scared of our own mother.  So she said, if possible, she'd find another way.

She passed on about five years later, and in a mysterious way.  I didn't receive any contact from her, and I knew she would keep her promise to us, - she was just like that.

One day, about a year after she died, she 'touched' me.  I know it was her, because we had discussed some sort of sign, and that was it.  She touched me on the back of the left arm - I felt the hand, and although it startled me, I wasn't afraid.

Seeing as how she'd waited for almost a year, I felt that this was her way of saying Bye, hon.. I'm moving on now.

I'm 100 % convinced, because I'm not spooked easily, that it was her, and it was a clear feeling of what we'd discussed.  Her touching the back of my arm.

I was grateful to know she thought so much of our promise, that she let me know she was alright, as I'd often lay awake wondering, but knowing she wouldn't 'appear' to me, as per her promise.  I felt so much better.

25 years later, I haven't sensed her since.  She's moved on, and I'm happy.

  4. I have, on two occasions.

It's very personal, though, and I don't really talk about it. Click on my profile name (to the left, click on "Red Heron") and email me if you want specifics. I do check my email, and I do reply (even to say "I don't wanna").

  5. yes.... my grandfather and then niece...

my grandfather passed from old age....pneumonia....heart attack in his sleep...

two weeks passed.... and I saw him in my sleep....we talked for some time...he gave me advice.... reaffirmed his love for me.... and when I awoke that feeling was still there (is there now)...

my niece 17.... died in a car accident.... the same day we found out that our second child was a boy....

I drove in a snowstorm 15 hours (for a 5.5 hour trip).... the roads were closed by the state troopers...yet I kept going... in order to stay awake and in control of the car.... I listened to heavy metal....but in my inner ear? or heart I heard Elton john's tribute to Princess diana.... I felt calm.... come to find out.... that was the main song they played at her services....

also, she came to me in a dream with messages for her mom...my sister....she visited her dad about this time.... and also a distant connection to the family a well known lawyer/judge that lost her son (a friend of my sister's) through suicide....when my sis...and I were kids....

really intense experiences.... definately feel their love at times... totally miss them, and what to reach out to them.... more
