Has anyone ever noticed amniotic fluid to look somewhat like vasaline after wiping?

I'm thinking I could possibly be leaking a little amniotic fluid. I will have a couple of little drips in my panties, but sometimes it's more. It does seem to have sort of a strange smell to it, but when I wipe it looks as if there is vasaline rubbed into the paper. Has anyone experienced this with an amniotic fluid leak before?

Its probably your mucus plug and not fluid.  The mucus plug looks like that.

I don't think(at least was never told there was and I asked before too) its leaking amniotic fluid. Its just discharge that sometimes thickens and turns clearish(such as your described,like vaseline) I've had this both my previous pregnancies as well as my current pregnancy. I asked my doctor before if it could be fluid leaking and she said that all it was,was discharge. Call the OB and describe it to them and they will let you know if there is cause for concern but I doubt you have anything to be worried about.

How soon are you due?  It sounds like regular discharge, or more likely, as someone mentioned, your mucous plug if you are due soon.  Amniotic fluid is runny almost like water.  If it starts leaking, it is more like you wet your panties a little.  I know, because that is how my water broke when I had my son.  It didn't come out in a big gush, but I got up in the middle of the night thinking I had "leaked".  Then it happened again a few minutes later, and I knew it wasn't my bladder.  What you are experiencing is probably just regular discharge, but of course it is always best to see your doctor when you aren't sure.

No fluid is clear (unless there is a sign of distress in the baby then it is brownish) and odorless. Sounds more like discharge to me

After my mucus plug fell out, there was a watery discharge for a while(i know tmi) but it was not amniotic fluid. You'll know when your water breaks.
