I have a corn snake who will ate fine for his first two or three feeds after i bought him. He then went on a three or four week period of not eating, and not shedding. He then ate another two times, and it has been about two weeks since his last feed. nothing has changed about the feeds and they are about every tuesday or wednesday around 5 30. He his only a baby, to very young juvenial. Has any one ever had a similar problem? And is there something i should be concerned about?

  1. Hi

We had a similar problem with our corn snake when she was little. She fed a couple of times when we got her and then she decided to stop eating full stop. She went for 7 weeks without any food, even though we were offering food regularly. The only way we got her to feed was to feed her live pinkies. She took 5 in one day. The only problem is that now she wont go back to defrost, no matter how hard we try. It is said that it can be the temperature of the mice that can cause them not to take the food, for example if the temperature is not the same as what a live mouse would be! I would suggest to keep trying for a couple of weeks as snakes can go for weeks and weeks without food, they just wont shed. If you have no luck, my only suggestion would be to try him on live. hope this helps.
