  1. yeah i got invited to china

  2. i got invited too! Lol. to china this summer

and idk i guess you have to wait till the meeting to find out.

but the person above me knows i guess. lol

  3. Whether it's worth it, depends upon what you want out of it. If you're looking for a short, touristy (and extremely expensive) trip, then it's worth it, yes.

However, don't misunderstand. It is NOT an exchange program! You are not an "ambassador" for anything. This is a marketing ploy used to get kids to take their trip. Thousands of these letters go out every year! I've even had exchange students get them AFTER they've returned home!

You would be much better served to take that money and go on a semester (or better yet a year) exchange with a good exchange organization (AFS, YFU, Rotary) where you will live with a family, attend a school and learn a language. The fees for the P 2 P trip would cover over half of such an experience, if not more!`

  4. I got a letter inviting me to Australia on Friday. But, I moved away from the delegation (what they call the groups that you travel with) in Columbus, Ohio that went to Australia. So now I have a chance to go on a European or Asia trip.

Basically heres what I have found out so far:

They probably got your name from a teacher who nominated you (that's how they got mine)

It's pretty expensive for the trips ($4,000-$9,000) but it includes everything including travel fares, food (three square meals a day), hotel accommodations (3-4 star hotels from what I've heard). The only things it doesn't include is like souvenirs, extra snacks, etc.

Also what I've learned is that you don't stay in one place too long. What I've been told is that you stay for about 1-2 nights in a hotel then you move on. Obviously, if your going to less countries you may stay longer in the hotels.

By getting a letter it does not automatically mean you are going on the trip. You have to get three letters of recommendation (two from teachers one from an adult that knows you well). Also you need to get an interview. From what I've heard, the interviews aren't something to be scared of they are really just trying to get to know you.

If you get accepted you'll have to go to a informational meeting in your area once a month. At these meetings you'll meet your chaperone's and the other kids going on the trip. These are not the same meeting that the letter talks about (but people have recommended that you really go to that meeting).

I hoped I helped. Remember that this is what people have told me and what they have on there website. Good luck on making it!

  5. I was invited also to China.. just got the mail now.

  6. It's pretty durn expensive. 6000 dollars just to go to Europe, 5000 to China. It's not exactly clear where half that money comes from. 0.o
