Has anyone ever put any up for sale on Craigs List and got people responding to your item for sale.....BUT all the e-mails are kinda all the same. Like...."My name is ...... i'm highly interested in purchasing the item posted And am ok with the price....full details and the final asking price."

One E-mail says.....there won't be any problem about the shipment, after payment ,the pick up will be made at your place. i have made arrangements with the prepaid shipping company. So if my terms are acceptable to you,i would like you to give me your 1,Name to be written on the Cashierts Check,Personal check or Money Order........................... 2,Address to send the Check to................................. So that i can send the money order ."

These are scammers right ????

I sold a vehicle on Craigs List a few weeks ago and NEVER got this kind of E_mail.

  1. I sold my soul on craigslist for a pack of beer.

  2. u know what thats what I want to find out too! because i think they are!!! yeasterday i posted up Soccer cleats and someone said the same thing asking for my name, address, home phone and cell phone, if it can be written on the Cashierts Check,Personal check or Money Order!

  3. Yea this is a scam and I think they target certian types of listings.  I had two litters of puppies a while back and I got endless calls and emails like that.

  4. You can always send a message back with something like, "Respond to this e-mail with a telephone number where I can reach you."

If it's a scam, they won't give you their number. If it's legitimate, they'll be willing to talk and answer your questions.

  5. well most of the time scammers dont try to buy vehicles because buyers wouldnt listen to them anyway

  6. idk

  7. Yes, they are scammers. I email them back and tell them I'm reporting them.

  8. yea, this happened to me and i bitc. hed them out, its a scam, What they want to do is find someone stupid enough to send them the info and they send you a fake cashiers check and once they have the item you have a fake check.

Dont give them any information, deal locally and post your next ad as , Payment is to be made in full, in cash. Or something like that

  9. heres a hint if your selling something and its not a

    can i see it

    what model is it

or simple questions like that they are scammers

  10. My wife put some hospital clothes on Craig's list lately, but she wasn't able to sell them.  She got the clothes at Good will for a great price.  Not sure if she ever sold them or not.  Probably not, since she hasn't bragged.

  11. Yeah I would watch out for those that want to buy it right away. And be very careful with even cashiers checks, they can be scams. I dont know what you are selling, but if it is a product that can be picked up in person, I would do it that way just to be safe.

  12. yes. i sold laptop bag a while ago and bought camera and a bike. the process is pretty simple: we exchanged emails, then one phone call, we met and made the deal face-to-face cash payment.  scammers are pretty easy to spot. if they want to make a deal with you from a distance it is a red flag  that something is not right. avoid giving personal info other than first name and contact phone number - it is more than enough to arrange the deal.

  13. Craig's list is filled with scamers. only accept CASH and never ever give them your address. work only with local people and meet at a public place. take the cash first then  hand over the goods. and never go alone.

  14. Scam, yes!
