I have problems with my 5yr old son who has intollerances to preservatives n colourings. He gets night terrors and hyperactive behaviour if he eats the wrong foods. Does anyone else a child with food intollerances? Has anyone tried the failsafe diet/or something similar? I am thinking of putting my son on this diet in the hopes that it will work. At the moment i avoid 160b natural colouring, 220 preservatives especially (as he has major reactions with these). His diet consists of fruit n veg (organic where possible), wholemeal bread, cheese, natural yohgurts, preservative free jams, nutlex butter, brown rice, pasta, milk, preservative free biscutes etc. He has improved considerably and his night terrors were frequent before (every 2nd-3rd day), then none for about 4 months on his new diet. But he had one last week. Please any one with any info, experiences, ideas? He is starting to become hyperactive again? And its different than the usual 5yr old!!

Does the failsafe diet work??
