Has anyone ever quit a job to go back to college? If so did your employer look down on the fact that you quit your job to go back to college?

My employer was very supportive of my  wish to go back to university.  Not only that, he gave me a recommendation that was not at all related to my new work which made the difference between yes and no.  He remarked that if I had been with him a year earlier he would not have sold out the business just before I took the job with him, that I had corrected so many problems that had plagued his business for years.

What was important in this case was that I had taken a job for which I was over qualified, for a limited period prior to university.  And everyone involved understood that I would be leaving from the time I came. I think that it is very important to have an employer enthusiastic about ones work.

Lots of people have quit jobs to go back to college.  Depending on the business or demand the employer may or may not have looked down on the fact that one quit to go back to college.

Who cares what the employer thinks...esp. if he is the type to look down on you for going to college!  Best employers are those that pay all or pat of the tuition for employees who go back to college.

Yes, in fact if you are doing that you can always explain that you just felt you wanted to bring more skills to the work force and broaden your horizon's. Anyone will think that is good of you to have done rather then just continue in an industry or job class that you just are not happy with.

i wish i could. don't worry about anybody looking down on you because you quit your job to finish school. most of the time, after you graduate you end up making more than your previous income. if those are your plans, hey, you have one life to live, why not make the best of it.
