its for summer, and i have questions to do w/ it too, sadly ;[. anyways, my teacher said it was a play. but, i'm confused; is it a book or a play? on the cover of the book that i ordered from amazon.com it said "A play in 3 acts by sherman l. sergel adapted from the television show by reginald rose." inside, its written like a play, with characters and everything. the book kinda looks like a brochure to me, ahahah, cos its only 63 pages and rather thin. im just worried i bought the wrong thing. can someone reassure me?

the opening lines of it are(act one):

"AT RISE OF CURTAIN: The curtain comes up on a dark stage; then as the lights start to come up on the scene we bear the voice of the JUDGE, off stage. ]

JUDGE [offstage] Murder is the first degree...premeditated homicide...is the most serious charge tried in our criminal courts. You have heard a long and complex case, gentlemen, and it is now your duty to sit down and try and separate the facts from the fancy. " blahblah it goes on, before act one, theres pages about the characters and all that.
