  1. Some have distance restrictions as in "In Town" only and "State only.

    Be sure you make your intentions  clear and do not stray.  It could void your insurance coverage.

    Go with what  R.M. has indicated or Hertz and Thrifty


  2. I always got a great rate from Avis at the Merida airport and Dollar from the Cancun airport. It seems to me that I got better rates when I reserved in advance on-line. (Plus it's easier to shop around that way.)

  3. The one that I've found to be a lot cheaper than the rest is Advantage, you can get a sport van for like 25-30 USD a day.

  4. Make sure you take their insurance our in the stated does not cover anything read everything carefully before signing if you are in an accident you will be detained most likely will have to pay for damages out of pocket and settle later check trip adviser they have great info on car rental for whatever city you will be in, many of these people on this site live there or retired there and can steer you in the right direction they have a forum for the city you will be traveling to.
