I don't go to London that often but nearly every time I have been I have seen a female taxi driver....that is unless they were very effeminate looking blokes!

Yes - they are a small minority but there are quite a few of them these days. The ones I've seen look like they could deal with any trouble just as well as the blokes, if not better!
