  1. saw one in chicago when on vacation before

its a very good market that's for sure

but it is very expensive as well

I get much of the same things from the Lexington Co-op here as we don't have a whole foods here

but I don't pay as much either

  2. good quality, but its very pricy! if you have a trader joe's near you, go there instead!

  3. We shop there all the time, but not for essentials.  There are some things we can only get at Whole Foods, like Tofurkey, so it's definitely worth the money.  Other items, like Morningstar and Boca products, we can buy at the regular grocery store because they're cheaper.  I'm glad that stores like King Soopers are now offering vegetarian fare; but I still enjoy shopping at Whole Foods because 1) their food is quality and 2) I like supporting them.

  4. i love whole foods!

my daughter is gluten free and they have everything labeled whether its gluten free or not. the quality of the items is very good and the variety of unique foods is fun. definitely worth the money!

  5. whole foods is a little pricey, but it depends on whether you are ok with spending a little more for a "better quality." the larger stores have exotic varieties of many items, like fancy nut oils, lots of different mustards and vinegars. fruits and veggies seem to be tastier or maybe they just seem to because they cost a little more.

you have to decide for yourself, where quality and price are at the best balance for your own tastes and wallet.

  6. Yes, I have shopped there numerous times. It is a bit pricey, but they have some of the most vegetarian/vegan-friendly products around, in addition to being eco-friendly. There are oodles of vegan and vegetarian alternatives, such as fake lunch meat, soy yogurt, vegan ice cream, etc. They also have some store-made, fresh items available every day. I especially like their vegan General Tso's chicken, which they make fresh every day. I think it depends on the store what fresh items they have, though. I would hold off on buying produce from whole foods though. Most produce can be bought at farmer's markets for a much better price. Also, it's a good idea to see if there are any privately owned health food stores nearby, in addition to Whole Foods Market. They usually provide better customer satisfaction and have better products available. But to answer your question, most of the food available at Whole Foods is worth the money. They also have some wonderful drinks available, such as healthy teas. Good luck shopping!

  7. yeah, they have pretty good stuff. i'd say it's worth the money.

  8. I love Whole Foods!  The quality in their items is usually quite good, and they're very vegan friendly.  I've discovered I can get some things cheaper there than at the Harris Teeter nearby (such as tofu, some natural packaged foods, etc.).  I often try to buy the store brands, as they are a bargain.

I'd say it's definitely worth the money.

  9. I think the quality is worth the price, but it's not like you can't get stuff just as good in the nicer regular grocery stores.  And it's a great place for harder to find items.  I believe that you go to a place like Whole Foods or Central Market for the experience, it's fun to indulge in the finer things in life.

  10. It depends on what you're shopping for.  Some Whole Foods have great bulk sections and that can be really economical, but others have little to no bulk section.  Their 365 brand of staples are very reasonably priced (often less than comparable items at regular grocery stores.)  I like Whole Foods, but I have a good grocery store with a great natural foods section in my neighborhood, so I don't often have a need to go out of my way for WF.  It's a nice store to browse in sometimes and I usually find something I had no intention of buying.

  11. If you purchase the "365" brands at Whole Foods, it will keep the cost down.  The 365 brand is basically the Whole Foods store brand.  I shop there all the time.  You have to watch for bargains, but honestly, I don't think they are much more than the local grocery store, if at all.  You'll learn which foods are bargains.  Also, check out their bulk section.  They have peanut butter, flour, sugars, grains, nuts, etc in bulk, and that can save you $$.

Good luck.  I have linked my blog if you would like to read other tips from me:  http://buzz.prevention.com/community/cat...

  12. For some items, the quality is better because they have a high turnover.  Some items are purely overpriced.  Their stuff isn't poor quality, but it depends on the quality of your original store as to whether or not it's good quality.  My local ethnic store has better quality than whole foods, but whole foods has better quality than the chain store.  They also have more party items and ready to eat stuff, like falafel and other exotic items.  You should just go and see for yourself (they may even have free samples).

  13. It's pretty expensive. They have great meat.
