Has anyone ever smelled the smell of water?

Once in a great while, almost always outside, i have smelled the smell of water...i dont know how i know it's water...but im pretty sure it is. It's not the smell of rain.

It's a good smell too, hard to describe it. Why is it that we can't smell it like out of our sinks and stuff?

The water in your sink may be loaded with chlorine, which has a smell of its own. Further, there are many smells in your home that out-compete the smell of water. If your sense of smell remains acute, there may be a job for you in the smell and taste laboratory of a major water company.
