Has anyone ever stayed at Dreams Cancun Resort and Spa in Cancun?

I'm torn between this hotel and the RIU Palace and I wanted to know which one would be better. Both have pretty much the same reviews. Please help!?

  1. We stayed at Dreams Cancun for 10 days last May. It was a great place to relax and the location is perfect.

    What I liked about Dreams:

    The staff is excellent and very helpful

    The food is wonderful for an all-inclusive. We enjoyed all the restaurants.

    The views from the tower rooms are awesome.

    They have two beaches, one near the towers and the other in the main area. The water was calm and beautiful.

    Swim with the dolphins on the property.

    Oh, complimentary sunscreen, creams and shampoos every day.

    Robes and slippers too.

    The only con was if you enjoy swimming in a pool, it's small for a resort of this size. But we are BEACH people and the beach was the best!

    Tips if you stay at Dreams.

    Do tip your maid every day, they will take care of you with extra special attention. Tip your waiter on the beach, you won't ever have to wait for your drinks, he will bring 2 at a time. Just a few dollars a day will do the trick. I always put the maids money under my pillow. I got extra everything. I once asked for an extra towel and everyday she gave me an extra towel.

    Sign up for a Iprefer membership card. (no charge) Dreams is part of the preferred hotel group. You will get upgraded to a nicer room IF available, free internet access and other perks.

    We were upgraded to the towers rooms and the views are unbelievable.

    We felt like we were on a perfect island, the grounds are very private but you go outside any everything is at your finger tips. Shopping, clubs, buses etc.

  4. i have stayed at both, there is two differances dreams has the dolfins, the other differance is rui place does not cost as much other than that they are close to the same.
