Has anyone ever stayed at the Park Royal Cancun?

Question

I was wondering what the hotel was like and what attractions are nearby? I'm interested mainly in the nightlife and shopping. How far are away is the nightlife and do I need to take a bus or cab? Are they available 24 hours? Any other useful information would be greatly appreciated!

I've stayed there twice! It's wonderful. The hotel is not too big and not too small. The service is wonderful. One bartender, Manuel, not only remembered me from last time, but he also remembered my name! There is not much nightlife at the hotel, but they do organize trips to the clubs every night or every 2 nights. You pay one price and get your all-u-can-drink armband while waiting in the hotel lobby, then they provide transportation to the club, and you find your own way back to the hotel. Buses are the best way to go, and both buses and cabs provide transportation 24 hours a day. Buses cost about 75 cents, but be careful with cabs, because some will charge you $14 just to take you one kilometer if they think they can get away with it! There is nightlife within walking distance, although it is a bit of a walk (and it's still hot at night). Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions!
