Has anyone ever stayed at the back beach in vung-tau vietnam?

is vung-tau a good holiday destination and can you recommend any reasonably priced hotels.thanks david.when are the hottest months

I was there 1998. It was nice. I think it's even a lot better now.

I belive it is called the "black" beach due to the color of the sand. The last time I stayed in a hotel there, my Viet wife went in and paid for the room. If I remember correctly, we paid about $20 usd/night two years ago. It was in March and the weather was great. Before that, we stayed in a simpler hotel that had a nice patio overlooking the beach. That cost $5 a night. I'm sorry, but I can't remember the names.

The weather will be great from about mid October to mid June.

A good piece of advice would be to stop at Tommy's Bar across the street from the beach and near the ferry dock. It's run by an Aussie named "Belly" and he can steer you right.
