Question:

Has anyone ever taken a cruise around Tasmania?

We booked a cruise roundtrip from Sydney going all around Tasmania for seven nights next January. Wondering if the seas are rough in that area? Are the ports worth visiting? What types of tours should you do in the ports? And just in general is this a good cruise?

We are also booked for Sydney to Auckland in November-- so any info on that would be great too.

  1. usually the ocean around this part of Australia  is most of the time rough, but todays cruisers are very stable and I do not see any major problem, .Devonport, Launceston and Hobart

are some of the ports, with probably Hobart coming first as in attraction, I would reccomend the ball and chain restaurant in Hobart

  2. If you're on a cruise ship you most likely won't realise you are even on the water. Things are very steady.

    Hope that helped some.

  3. Sorry but I have never been to Tasmania

  6. I don't know the answer to your questions BUT since we are doing an Australia cruise next year I posted a couple questions about that area but put them in the Australia category rather than cruise category.  If you post your questions there  people who live in Australia will give you a good answer based on them living and working there.  One of those person, K-Bear, is on my contact list.
