Question:

Has anyone ever taken a vacation through Sunset Group? Are they reliable?

I was offered a cheap trip to Cancun, Mexico, through Marketing 4 Sunset Group. I bought the vacation, but now I'm not sure I can trust the company.

I have heard they might be a scam, and I have also heard they make you sit for hours every day listening to a sales pitch to buy a time share from them. Are either of these things true?

  1. I Googled "Sunset Group" timeshare scam and got this:

    http://www.mexican-timeshare-fraud.blogs...

I work in hospitality as a Platinum Concierge in our loyalty program. I've been in service for 7 years and I am proud of what we do/

Last year, I spent a few months in a different state, working for an entirely different company, pushing timeshare previews.  It was so ugly.

For SOME buyers who know how to work it, owning 2 or 3 timeshare weeks can be a wonderful thing.

But MOST buyers purchase under pressure and lies and end up not even knowing who to call when they have a question!  It's unthinkable to me to sign a $50K contract and NOT KNOW who your contact is!!

Extricate yourself from this shady operation and plan a normal, hotel vacation in Mexico, if that's what you really want.

Another way to enjoy vacations is by renting actual homes in your chosen destination! Google "Vacation rental homes" and the destination name!

  2. Oh my gosh...vacation package ok...however please don't let them talk you into anything more...the employees are allowed /encouraged to tell you anything you want to hear whether it is the truth or not just to make a sale. Hours you bet...try to get you drunk you bet...anything to get you to sign your name...

When you call to make your reservation you may not get the date(s) you are interested in...I know people that work in the reservations department. But it is a real place with rooms and an ocean view...

You can not cancel your membership. I know the manager of that department...will not happen even if everyone in your family has been kidnapped by wolves.

You can not get your money back on the vacation you just purchased even if you get run over by an ol' freight train.

And to top it off they have the lowest rating that the BBB will give.

  3. don't know couldn't say  check the bbb

  4. Accept the invitation - they are nice places, but make sure you get it understood and accepted that you signed up for 90 minutes - not half the day. And be SURE to say no to the timeshare offer. Check ebay - you can buy Sunset timeshares all day and all night for $1. Print a copy and take it with you - they'll try and deny it anyway, but you will have the proof that they are truly just trying to get you to buy something for thousands of dollars which you can get on ebay for $1.
