  1. i took it.....at first before it was working all the way....sometimes i would feel dizzy but it got better and went away....then it helped out alot with depression....whenever i was ready to get off my meds my doctor helped me do it slowly but surely....ive been off 8 mths now and perfectly fine

  2. I have used it twice in my life. The first time I used it, it was the most amazing medication I had ever used. I never felt so normal and able to do things as I did when i was on prozac. After my daughter was born, my body chemistry changed. I tried to go back on it and it caused me to feel homicidal. It took me a while to realize that it was the prozac that was doing it because I had taken it successfully before and it worked great! I kept thinking my illness was getting worse. Once it finally struck me that the medication was making me like that, I stopped it. I could feel the urge to kill dissipate as the medication left my system.

Basically my answer is, if it works for you, it will be the best medication that you have ever been on and you will feel better than you ever have before. (After the 6 week adjustment of course) If it does not work for you, you need to watch and if you feel you are having urges to hurt anyone, you need to stop taking it instantly. (This is a medication that has little problems with withdrawal)

  3. Man. All those medications are BS. The only way to resolve mental issues are to think them through logically, not emotionally. Negative emotions can destroy an otherwise stable and successful person, and pills will NOT fix that problem, only suppress it while you are still on it, allowing the problem  to continue.

The only way to have peace of mind is to change your conditions so that they are physically and mentally favorable; not numb them

  4. one draw back to taking prozac is the fact that if you forget a dose you will likely get a horrible headache.  When I went off I had a head ache for quite a long time.  but the good out weighed the bad.

  5. I myself have never taken prozac but my best friend of 11 years took it about 3 or 4 years ago. I personally wouldnt recommend any type of depression/mood altering drugs because of what it did to her. She took them for depression but the problem that she had was that it caused her to become more depressed and she always sat there like a zombie or something in some sort of stupor daze. She also tried to kill herself numorus times which i think is the worst long term effect you can come across. Once she finally stopped using prozac she turned back into the amazing person she always was. You may not need this advice due to the fact I have never taken it myself, but I know no matter what problems I have, id rather deal with it myself than to let myself turn into nothing.
